Kairos Family Services trains, certifies, and supports treatment and traditional foster families, helps families grow through adoption, and provides mental health services to children, youth, and families.
Foster care & adoption
Two ways to foster, one team behind you
We serve children and youth primarily in El Paso County and surrounding counties. Youth may be in the custody of a parent, a legal guardian, the juvenile court, or the Department of Human Services.
Traditional Foster Care
We train and prepare families to welcome sibling groups, teens, infants, children with special needs, and children with developmental delays.
Treatment Foster Care
For youth ages 6–18 who still need treatment, in a less restrictive setting than residential care, with in-home clinical services. Ideal for clinicians, educators, residential counselors, ministry, or law enforcement professionals.
Adoption
When reunification isn’t possible, we help families move toward permanency, including foster-to-adopt and adoption home studies.

Complete training, background checks, fingerprinting, physicals, and your SAFE home study.
Welcome a Child
Once certified, we make careful matches and provide case management and ongoing support.
Mental health & community services
Care for children, youth, and families
Our licensed clinicians provide therapy and specialized services across Colorado Springs.
Individual, Family & Group Therapy
Trauma-informed counseling for children, youth, and families.
SOMB Treatment
Individual and group treatment by clinicians trained and certified to serve those court-ordered to complete SOMB treatment.
Youth Transition Services
A partner with the Division of Youth Services, providing therapeutic and transition support for youth leaving the juvenile justice system.
Supervised Visitation
Contracted with El Paso County DHS and a member of the Supervised Visitation Network, offering a neutral party for families in the community.
Parenting Programs
Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) and Nurturing Parenting programs for foster, adoptive, and birth families.
Informed Supervision Training
Available by reservation. Contact us to schedule a session.

Caregiver inexperience and burnout are two of the biggest reasons placements disrupt. We work to make sure every foster family has the training, resources, and case management support they need, so children can have stability and reach permanency.

What does it take to foster in Colorado?

What’s the difference between traditional and treatment foster care?
Traditional foster care provides a safe, loving home for children. Treatment foster care, created under the Family First Prevention Services Act (2018), serves youth with more intensive needs and includes in-home clinical services and additional training.
Can I foster if I’m single or rent my home?
Contact us. Many kinds of families can foster. We’ll walk you through eligibility during your first conversation.
Can I foster and later adopt?
Yes. When reunification isn’t possible, many foster families go on to adopt, and we support you through that process.
What support will I have after a placement?
Every family receives case management and ongoing support, along with training opportunities and parenting resources.
